Parody of Hamlet's Soliloquy (Dinner Version)

HAMLET’S DINNER SOLILOQUY

To eat, or not to eat, that is the question.
Whether ‘tis nobler in the stomach to suffer,
The passing of the plate to starving sister Fortuna,
Or to take steak from the scarcity of dinner,
And by devouring finish them, to dine, to eat
No more for sis’, to say we end
The stomach-ache, and the thousand calorie steaks,
That flesh is tender? ‘Tis a consumption
Devoured, after the fish. To dine, to eat,
To eat, moving on to ice cream? Aye, there’s the tub,
For in that box of goods what flavours may come,
When we have pried off this insistent lid,
To calm our maws. There’s the spoon
That scoops our food out without much strife.

(2013)

This poem is entirely intended to entertain.
It is taken from Shakespeare's most famous soliloquy, by Hamlet,
The word scheme is similar, but changed to suit the theme.
Enjoy!
