Not Perfect, Not Alone
I pretend I know everything,
Or that I can do anything,
But I don’t,
And I can’t.
Sure I may act
Like I’m just perfect,
But I’m definitely not.
I’m short and can’t sing,
And my nose is too long.
I won’t tell you
“I like myself,
Despite all my errors”
Because I don’t.
However, I can change,
Myself and things about me,
Until I think I’m great.
And I realize throughout life
That other people think the same,
And they also change themselves.
Sometimes it makes me sad to know
That other people feel this too,
But I’m also sort if glad to think
“At least I’m not alone.”
