The Storm
When we laid together that night
you told me that you didn’t want to fight
You said that we should leave each other
and then find another
I asked you what brought you to this
and you said it would be hidden bliss
For us, this could save you and me the pain
But instead, in my mind, there was only the rain
I couldn’t see past this storm
Nothing was here anymore,
It was growing colder tonight
I give up now, not use to fight
The color is fading from the walls
The light is hiding and showing all my flaws
There’s no use for my brain
All it’s doing is driving me insane
Blame upon blame is the game
Blame upon me is now my name
Lying awake with shadows to follow
Lying still, all the pain and lies hard to swallow
You said it was all there, nothing to fear
Now you left me alone here
Lurking, deceiving fiend of life
How could you leave me with this strife
Take the burden of the call
And now leave me here to crawl
