WW2 Europe

What can you do child of war
Lived your life beneath the floor
And when the smoke finally clears
All that’s left are the damaged years
And when the smoke finally clears
All that’s left are the drying tears
Washed away
Washed away
Washed away are the colors of yesterday
A world turned gray
A world turned gray
And a million eyes that have turned away

What to do with the child of war
They don’t smile don’t laugh anymore
When the guns are all withdrawn
All the wonder is long long gone
When the guns are all withdrawn
The eyes light up like the bloody dawn
Bled away
Bled away
Bled away is the blood of yesterday

Does it need our anger the ancient war?
Or does the result that is at its core
Where can you go child of war
We hear you but we just ignore

The bodies of the silenced
Rose up and walked away
Into a land of forgotten and decayed
And here forever may they stay
Gathering leaves that will  turn to clay
A world turned gray
A world turned gray
And a million eyes that have turned away

This is more lyrical ... It's one of my songs so it may deviate a bit from my normal poetical format ... That's in my opinion though
One of my more obvious...and a song on guitar ...which I'm not the best at ...but a few of my songs are on here....lyrically driven ....not quite as smooth and poetic in my eyes...but delivers strong message...wether i do that successfully is your call..please help

Note ** all my poems are copyrighted and have codes to prove ownership ... While I doubt anyone here does this ..still have to say Don't steal other people's work wether a poem is good enough or not .... It's personal and directly speaks from the soul of the writer and to take their work and say it's yours ..it's wrong and unnatural ..your stealing a peice of them ...it's nothing to do with money or rights...it's so much more than that...its happened to me .. It can happen to anyone .. It hurts and I always speak out against it even if to most it seems pretentious...

Beautiful poem, and yet imbued with pain and sadness. Such is the dichotomy of our existence.

I recently wrote a poem about World War II. But I focused on something entirely different.

Thank you I hope the song does it justice but I can say with surety I'm better at writing than guitar ..

It sounds like a beautiful song. Very passionate. I heard a melody when I was reading it.

Made me think of the children of the Holocaust who had to hide from potential capture.
Well done
