Love without You

Like the emergence of sunshine on a rainy day
My heart yearns for you
But, how am I to believe
You will stay?

You can’t stay
For if you stay my heart will rattle it’s cage
Every gaze from you beckoning her
Closer to the exit– closer to the soul

The walls of my inner works protected
Works so intricate, flowers so delicate
She is unscathed.
Yet to your touch,
The flower blooms just a little longer

I can’t take this feeling
The kind of feeling that makes your stomach twist
The kind of feeling that keeps you up wondering
How am I to believe
But, you must stay.

If you tell me you love me
I will believe you
If you tell me you’ll never hurt me
I will believe you
Although your eyes might lie

I love you, I love you
That’s the problem
For what is to love,
Without you?
