Marionette
she walks on air
hanging from twisted strings
a painted marionette
dancing for her manipulator
but if she falls
it’s her own fault
poor clumsy thing
never learned the steps
this great pretender
plays at comedy, tragedy
and sordid romance
with a grin etched in porcelain
so beautiful
but hollow
empty of all life
she’s filled with poison
