Anita

My Best Friend. A Haiku poem

I still hear her voice,
Calling me her Turtle Dove.
My sweet Anita.

We were childhood friends,
who were knit in tender love
many years ago.

She was always there,
we were just like two sisters.
Our friendship was true.

We both would marry,
she was my Maid Of Honor,
and I was hers too.

We had sweet children,
she had three, and I had five
they were babies then.

She was beautiful,
a woman of such good taste
both outside and in.

I loved her so much,
We’d talk about the old days.
We would laugh and grin.

We laughed a whole lot!
and sometimes we’d even cry
Oh! what a good friend.

Then Heaven called her,
and I had to say goodbye
Temporarily.

As long as I live,
I will always remember
affectionately.

I wrote this Haiku poem in honor of my best friend Anita. I loved her so.
When she had a problem she would lay in my lap and cry,
but now she doesn’t have to shed anymore tears. She’s in Heaven now,
and I really miss her so much, but I’ll see her again someday.
