Glimpse
I see you in the mirror sometimes,
I find you lurking in the shadows,
You are so sad sometimes,
I feel you all around me, I know you watch me in the mirror,
I feel the desire to be who you once were,
That feeling is so powerful,
I feel it deep in my soul when I catch a glimpse of you,
I always thought it was sad that it ended up this way,
Because I miss you too, I miss who we were together,
We were so strong, happy even,
I don’t know what done it but I really wish it didn’t happen,
Is there any way for you to come out of the shadows and come back to me,
Can you do that?
Just walk right into me, let us become one again,
We can be strong again, we can be happy again,
You can do it, just come on,
Hurry before the dark one, the one that rules over my shadows comes,
He will destroy you, then there is no hope,
Just hurry and be careful, I can’t loose you completely,
I need you there, somewhere,
Hurry dear.
The meaning behind this poem is that years ago I was once a whole person but then I was destroyed by a situation that impacted me and all my past hurt and it just ripped me apart. The part that was taken away from me was the happy, innocent girl I used to be. That girl she follows me, wanting to be whole again. She is in my shadows but she is bound by the past, it hold her captive, not allowing her to come back to me.
