Wigs and Toupees

When I was in high school driving South to a soccer game in my freshman year, I noticed a shop on the right side of the road called, "Wigs and Toupees."  The logo was a wig that resembled a mullet.  I thought it was funny because my dad had had a bald spot since as long as I could remember. Ever since that day I would always notice and look for that shop when going South by car, and I would laugh to myself and say wigs and toupees with a crescendo on the toupees. "Wigs and Toupees!" Years later, after leaving California for college and returning after, I still noticed that store.  So one day, while driving up to Santa Barbara from LA I pulled off the freeway at the Wigs and Toupees exit. I was really excited to check out the shop and get a business card to show to my sisters.  I was hoping it would have a mullet on it. It didn’t. I don’t quite remember what it looked like now, and I no longer notice the shop every time I drive South, I sometimes do but don’t say Wigs and Toupees to myself. When I got into the shop that day a woman was at the counter purchasing a wig for her sister going through chemo.
