Somewhere in a cornered mind...

Somewhere in a cornered mind
I came through the other side
Just as fine but not without wear
Down to my bones of a yesteryear.
Enthralled at captured memories
Things that simply could not ever be
Tumultuous and simplistic realities
And seemingly impossible externalities.
Convinced the mirror’s a message torn
Convinced under the Sun I’m born
To wander aimlessly you see
Without cause of what was supposed to be.
Forging thoughts from lacquered walls
Echoed madness, echoed pieces
Of my dreamscapes, beautiful wishes
And ever present waterfalls.
Would you find a rhythm there
Beneath a starry guided lens?
Can you seek a thoughtful glance
And join me in a midnight dance?
Cannot begin to displace
Cannot begin to erase
Nor separate or fend off
These irreparable and angry scoffs.
But somehow managed within your veins
To find a pulse in heavy rains
Heartbeat’s content to waste away
In a joyous smile when I’ve found my way
Into the brightness of summer dawn
Into her pleasant, dawning yawns
Of platitudes and wispish grins
Again to places full of whims.
Ask me where I take you
Ask me where I lead you
Ask me where we’ve been
Ask me what we’ve seen
Pray me for forgiveness
Pray me to believe
Leave me to your desires
Leave me to your pain
Take away my boundaries
Take away my shame
Take a part of everything
Yet leave it all the same
Question my authority
Question all my blame
Tease me to destruction
Yet leave it all the same
Tear apart my reason
Tear me at the seams
Rip apart this decadent heart
And replace it all the same.
I can only grin at you
Angelic lovestruck fool
Because you cannot see the ways
In which you’ve come a tool.
So ask me for forgiveness
And watch my heart bleed
Know from where this anchor stands
That you cannot make it bleed
So a trusted steed was once your fantasy
But you’ve come to accept
Our inconsequential reality
That to beg me for all eternity
For something one cannot have
Is a purposeful waste of beauty
That you simply never had.
Dream your dream you lover made of stone
And be that impossibility
And take your roots up in the trees
And sew the seeds that come to bear
Sew the seeds you’ve worn with wear
Because to accept the truth
To grant me access to give you sooth
You’ll once upon a midnight dance
Once upon a midnight chance
To craft poetic while being shown...
Everything.
