Where the Lonely Stand

To Those Who Are Lonely

Around here there are broken dreams
Torn seams of what used to be
A complete blanket
But we are covered in dust
Rusting away
For another day
Of painful lust

Talking to the walls
Waiting for their confessions
But all you hear is the reflection of your depression
And nothing is more sweeter than the silence you feel
Then comes the sweet taste of blood
And we feel nothing if we cannot cover it up

A pop when it hits
A fire in the guts of what we used to be
And we never thought we could become
The one thing we walked away from
Our soul holds a sign
That reads
Vacant
We can’t get away
From what we were yesterday

Underneath our fragile frame
This battle between happiness and depression
Some oppression we face
When we are afraid of this place
Some thief at night
We stand awake with no light
Holding hands after hands
This is where the lonely stand

(2014)

We lonely cannot be lonely if we that are lonely are all together.
