No regrets

It’s late, you rush to meet me. As I ponder what this night will come to, you insist our love must be done in secrecy. Though upsetting, I know it’s true.

While we waste no time swapping our stories about our days, knowing we can speak our minds. Never are we lost for words.

Watching the night grow older, a smile, a kiss, a wink. Quietly we sit, your head on my shoulder. Forever this will last, so we think.

Hours for us, are centuries on the sky. Morning is coming, to soon it seems. Forces to say our goodbyes. Light, the sun, my enemy.

See you tonight; like butterfly’s my insides churn. I’m left sitting alone with our little secret. Knowing one day you won’t return. Forever I will be missing you, loving you. The happiness will always outweigh the pain.

(2013)

I would love to know what people think.
