Stand Alone

Neutrality

The days have come and gone so soon
Much like the sun chasing the moon
So much like dusk chasing the dawn
The endless race goes on and on

Awaking to rise one more time
Dream a new dream, write a new rhyme
To sit and reflect, ponder, and think
The day passes before you blink

Then comes the evening, the sunset
As beautiful as any met
The sun fades as the moon does rise
The light fades right before your eyes

The stars, then, become visible
Filling a sky that was not full
The moon shining, with its soft glow
The light in the darkness does show

One coin, light and dark the two sides
Down the road of destiny slides
But neither part of the true fate
Never too early or too late

Open your eyes as they do shut
Ask the question why....but not what
Until the universe is stone
Stand up for what’s right....stand alone

(2015)

There are two sides to every coin, but who says you have to choose a coin?
