Welcoming Me Home

Conversations with Poets

inspired by "a silver haired she devil"

i walk purposefully
into the room
muscles fatigued
from the mornings labor
cutting wood
for the fire
the hard ash
and
oak
that warms
our happy home
i observe you
laying there
in natural beauty
awakening
from contented
slumber
your mane
covering
slender neck
and
shoulders
i watch your eyes
slowly
open
taking in
the sight of me
standing
at attention
my hard angles
uncovered
made hot
washed
in my unique scent
deliciously primed
and
ready
to enter
the kingdom
of your heaven
your eyes
smiling
tracing
every inch of me
a familiar smirk
dancing
across your lips
your chest
rising
and
falling
to the beat
and
rhythm
of your heart
your legs
slowly
playfully
parting
removing
the veil
that once seperated
you
and
i
the covers
that once hid
now slipping
from our bed
to the cool floor
at last
revealing
eden
the offering
of flesh
and
blood
that welcomes
me home...
