It's Been Days

It’s been days now,
But you haven’t left my mind.
It’s hard, but I try to move forward
With every ounce of will I can find.
Is it possible that
You don’t know?
That it’s pointless for me to wait
Until you finally show?
But maybe you aren’t oblivious,
And you choose to ignore me.
I could imagine the hurt that
Inspires you to be angry.
I wonder if it’s crossed your lips–
The taste of hate.
I wonder if you holding back
Is nothing but a twisted bait–
That I’ll come running,
Begging you back.
And you’ll cut me down
Because of what I lack.
And you’ll shatter my heart,
To where its no longer fixable.
And I’ll realize that,
You were only turning the table.
Even after what I’ve done,
I still pray
That you miss me
And you’ll come back one day.
