You looked at me as you said
“I Love You, I want you in my life”
Enjoyment and anticipation begin to fill my head
However, fear prevents my heart to say it in return like a night
You kissed me as you said
“I want to be yours. Real talk”
I smiled as we laid in the bed
Deep down, fear wanted me to look away and balk
You held me as you said
“I can spend the rest of my life with you”
I begin laughing and wanted you to be the one I wed
Unfortunately, fear made me move your arm and turn away too

But truth is I’m scared to let love come in
Scared to fall in love with anyone
My heart has been so damaged so much
Causes love to be prevent and shun
Not even want to feel your love or trust
Each time I did love
Either cheated or used me
Lied and said they were sent from above
Even physically harmed me
Each time I trusted
Either disrespected me for no reason
Caught them kissing another guy-Busted
Caught them saying, “Well, I need him for cuffing season”
I want to love you
I want to marry you
I want to make love to you
Fear, won’t let me love you.
