I seen some signs
And normally
I’d wait
To see what the universe would guide my way
But honestly when
I seen your face on Bumble
I wondered was it you or me who fumbled
We met in a gay bar
Where I was still closeted to most
And you bought me a drink
And off we went to the smoking area where I pinned you in a corner
Kissing you harder
I got your number and while we text and made plans
For many months to come
You’d delete and readd me I thought just for fun
Then I seen a post about you and your housemate dating
I didn’t let you explain then
But I dis tonight
The day I text you.
After 8 years had gone by
Time might fly but what’s funny is
It feels like no time was between us at all
And my smile is hurting my cheeks
And my voice is horse
But now I can’t wait until April to see what this holds.
