With Fool's Eyes
he looks off into the distance
as if god exists
waiting beyond the winds
with some kind of answer
he looks on dating sites
as if love exists
waiting to steal him from this solitude
and burn with him in flames of temptation
he looks in his wallet
in the fridge
and under rocks
as if there was anything that could feed his hunger
he closes his eyes
to see nothing
and realizes
that’s exactly what’s going to save him
