Ode To Spring
Unattainable Love
Spring, you awaken the spirits and spawn renewed life;
I am Winter, cursed with the feeling of darkness and foreboding cold
But, even though we are in conflict and are quite different,
There is a strong bond that brings us together
At night Winter closes his eyes and dreams of Spring’s beauty,
And in the darkness he hopes for a ray of sunshine from her smile
He knows that without Spring life would be impossible to exist,
And so he has a quandary deciding between his love or losing a friend
He walks through the darkness as if stuck in purgatory,
He knows that the feeling of regret will be his curse until eternity
Spring will never know Winter’s true unequivocal love,
His soul will forever remain dark and cold until the end
I am Winter and you are Spring
