Growing

Looking into a mirror make my thoughts clearer,
staring into my eyes,
realizing the separation within my reflection,
I’ve grown and grew,
I’ve weathered countless storms,
denying failure the stronger the winds blew,
obstacles as strong as tornados and hurricanes,
walking through acting as if I was untouched but felt a lot of pain,
nothing in life comes easy,
the more you go through the more you gain,
looking into the past,
me walking through gravel to see how far I’ve traveled,
got tired of people passing me up leaving a cloudy dirt trail,
decided to take responsibility head on,
along the way immaturity felt betrayal,
starting to see myself evolve into a man,
from gravel to asphalt here I stand,
gravel slipping tripping and sliding on the rocks trying make it,
now on asphalt,
I have a steady ground and anything in this world is waiting for me to take it,
a change mind also a changed heart,
through my reflection I see the old me starting to depart,
I took every obstacle as a lesson,
flipped it instead of complaining and made my obstacles one of many blessings
