Greed

What we want and what we need;
Comes from our own minds; fueled by greed
Should greed invade my mind and heart?
That I hope;
For a life of mediocrity is certainly a joke.

For greed will push a man to uncharted heights;
Like a dying dog will anxiously agree to its final fight.
My views on greed you might disagree with;
For greed is a constant companion, we are all forced to live with

Greed is the bane of societies existence
With its impregnable weapon of persistence
I want what you have with a burning desire
I will burn my prized possessions a raging fire
For what I have nobody wants;
Except for the ones I have just spoken of.

Greed and ambition are closely related
Like similar souls; destined to be fated
What the one represents, the other corrupts
An honest dream,  greed will corrupt.

For what I have learn’t and what I have seen
Can all be corrupted by envy’s colour of  green.

A poem about greed, is greed a good thing to have? Or is it bad? What do you take from this poem?
