It’s ironic
How we take our lives for granted.
And,
after receiving a midnight call from Her:
—Just letting you know I’m here
I’m waiting
Oh! Did I scare you?
Awfully sorry, I couldn’t help noticing
That you forgot of my existence.
And by the way—
You may be next.
I’m not quite sure yet,
Just you wait.
It won’t take long—
A few weeks in suspense.
Don’t mind me
I’ll just be in the corner
of your mind
Crouching, lurking, eating you inside.
We realise the obvious.
And that’s the day when we start feeling
everything around us come to life.
We notice all the hidden details
treasures
blinding us with a golden light.
We understand how precious it all is:
life
death
and all the world in its regal glory.
We suddenly start living
Every minute filled with breathing,
being.
And this keeps us alive.
