A Starlet of Spring
After the Spring rain
a dove on a Dogwood branch
preens like a starlet
I know that in the United States, argument is made for the last 20 years that there is no reason of follow the 5/7/5 Japanese syllabic form for the haiku. But I find it works better than wandering syllabically like an entrepreneurial American although I have o problem with those who do. I just deduct points from the efforts, odd curmudgeon that my wife says I am. All the best who find poetry an addiction with no negative hangover.
