Block Party
Neighbors were happy to see
Fred and Opal come back
for the annual block party.
Old Bill asked Fred
why they moved and Fred said
a new element was trickling
into the neighborhood and
they wanted to avoid the flood.
Where they live now, Fred said,
the shopping’s good, the streets
are clean, and their lives are all
Ozzie and Harriet again.
Last week, though, a cop warned Fred
to stop wheeling his trash out so early.
That wouldn’t happen here, Bill said.
