The Truth About Blindness

Let me lay it on the line:
dump my carcass amongst the rat feces,
but save my eyes, their dying pieces;
I’d rather lay in the sewer,
let me crawl into that sewer,
but have mercy on my eyes;

let me lay it on the line: sell tickets if you
wish; invite our Lord to feed the masses,
break bread and many fish; dying’s nothing,
life’s easy, I won’t wince, while delighted
people watch upon a comfy bench; I’ll swing
from the maple’s bough, I’ll break my lovely

neck; let me lay it on the line: split my
bowels to give the benchsitters pause; I don’t
care; let the worms eat away my balls; I’d
rather lay in the sewer, let me crawl into that
sewer; dying’s nothing, life’s easy;
this is the truth about blindness.
