I welcome the cool morning breeze.
I watch as nature paints a magical view with ease.
My mind reflects on memories of the past.
I smile as I realize how long I allowed them to last.
I recall the moments when we met.
The Bad Boys theme song and dreaming of a Ferrari and a jet.
I recall her bright red lipstick as we kissed the first time.
It was as though we were a perfect fit, a feeling sublime.
I recall our baths with candles and remaining on the door step.
Her smooth skin against my fingertips as my heart leapt.
I recall the birth of our little girl and the tears of joy.
Knowing in my mind that I longed for a girl rather than a boy.
I recall the beauty in her eyes as she held our little one.
In that moment there was nothing more precious under the sun.
I recall the way our lives changed yet we always found a silver lining.
For life is a gift that we can love, hold and choose to keep shinning.
These are my thoughts on this special day.
