My Dog Came Back

A place to meet
Somewhere to talk
Someplace to eat
Then take a walk
But sad to say
It would not be
For on that day
She burgled me

I sat alone
As she stripped bare
My little home
Without a care
She took some cash
And precious things
Plus all my stash
Of silver rings

My army coat
And Levi jeans
The songs I wrote
For her daydreams
The dog I’d had
Since he was small
Now that was bad
The worst of all

She took my car
My mobile phone
Then travelled far
To live and roam
But just today
My dog came back
Hip-hip hooray
We’re back on track!
