We are living life in limbo
All of us caught between the lines
Perpetually staring out the window
At the life that’s passing us by
Caught in the space between
Awake and dreaming
Between pain and pleasure
Between laughing and screaming
And we are measured
Not by weight
But by silver linings
Hardened
Not by hate
But by years of vying
For we are waiting for answers
We’ll never learn
Aching for truths
That we’ll never discern
And turning the tables
Like a roulette wheel
Gambling everything away
