Every day, another me

Every morning that I wake up,
I awake to another side of my story.
As if at night, God tosses a coin
to decide what I’ll be and what I’ll see
in my waking reality.

Today it lands on heads, tomorrow it may be tails.
And if, on one of the days my judgement fails,
I’ll have the chance to correct my misperceptions
by being guided from another direction.

And every evening I say goodbye
as another part decides to die,
to wake up again to be another me
and experience a changed perspective of life’s reality.

I tell you, this is not a lie.
And I dare you to even try
to live by my side for a few days,
and find a consistency in my ways.
Or at least, do your best to disagree
with every different part of me.
