The roadsides gleam in morning splendor
Robed in the blooming garb of spring
Bluebonnets, flowers of every imaginable color
A rainbow tapestry; the bees are murmuring!
Frantically, I searched for heaven’s door
For something so beautiful can’t be fleeting
Sadly! Gone by summer’s end or e'en before
If spring’s no more; the dog days are coming!
But the blossoms will be back come what may
Early next year; so we hope, and so we pray

My fourth poem of the spring series. The phrase "Robed in the blooming garb of spring" has been lifted from an Adventist song...

Saw some of the wild flowers here in SoCal. Fantastic! Last year's wet days helped. More nature's color wheel is in the offing. Like.

Thanks for liking Brod. Aah! Texas bluebonnets are incomparable. LOL
