It’s time for resolutions
Change our lives for the better
Give up our nasty habits
And slow down the wear and tear
Alcohol and cigarettes
Steak and eggs; cheese and butter
Give them up or cut them down
Cleanse ourselves from all clutter
Clear and purify our hearts
From hurt pet peeves and anger
And face the year with vigor
To old selves no surrender
Pray that thirty days from now
We’ll remain true to our vow
