Scent of Jasmine

A faint scent of jasmine
Stirred up an emotion
Long, long dormant
She wore it often
Her magic potion
Me, to torment
© F Aparici

A Sonnet

A faint scent of jasmine filled the night air
Awakening a love long left behind
Her fragrance lingered, subtle yet so rare
Reviving feelings time had sought to blind

She wore it often, like a secret spell
A magic potion mixed with sweet intent
Each trace of her would cast a wistful swell
A memory of moments heaven-sent

Yet still she knew the power she possessed
To stir my heart and keep my mind confined
A fleeting scent, a torment I confessed
For love of her, a prison so designed

Now jasmine lingers where my thoughts reside
A scent that keeps her presence close inside

The poem “Jasmine” was the first poem I posted in this site. I have rewritten it as an English sonnet. Hope it hasn’t been lost in translation.
