Sometimes

She left when I was nine,
Came back from time to time,
A short visit she would stay,
Then once again be on her way,
Always told me that she loved me,
Not really knowing how to show it,
Clearly lost in her addiction,
Thought I was way too young to know it,
Killing herself slowly,
With every puff she inhales,
Says she wants to give it up,
But every time she tries, she fails,
Sometimes I think about God,
And this life he’s given me,
Wonder why he placed me in this hell,
We all call poverty,
But I’ll survive in this game,
Wont go out without a fight,
Cus that’s what you gotta do,
When you’re livin’ the mad life
