Anchors

The open sea, a clear view, as far as the mind can see
No longer do these chains hold tight, demanding to anchor me
No more excess boxes filled with many old regrets
No more mistakes or fumbles from which I strive to forget
I pray for my mind to feel vacant as much as my heart is free
And I wish for my senses to be viewed strong and rationally
I have walked my feet till my socks grew thin upon this very road
I have emotionally delivered all, despite this weighty load
At times I may have stumbled and subconsciously willed defeat
But only now can I understand the truth of feeling complete
Hardships I have fought them and duly paid my rent
Hardships I have felt them, the struggles and resent
But now I can sit, breath freely and appreciate another life line
As now is my time to snatch life now is my time to shine
