The cry of an African child

Write your poem... He cries as he stand alone in a dark room
no one is there to hear his soulful cry
the beat of his tears is loud as they hit the ground
almost trembling the earth
his mother is not there to sing him a sweet lalabae that can seize his cry
but where is the mother?
she is out in a riot to fight for her freedom
with nothing to defend herself with
but the songs that infuriated the enemy
“open!” just before he can say fire
the bullets started flying
chaos broke-off
to the left they ran
to the right they ran
to the ground the fell
such a horrible act committed
but the man with the weapon does not think so
he smile as his gun breathe out smoke from the bullets he fired
grief is what is left in the families of the deceased
and after all we forgave them
because we were aiming for peace

Notes - Information about the poem...The poem was inspired by those who fought for freedom during the apartheid era in South Africa and its aim is to remember the ones who fought for our freedom and keep the peace they fought for in South Africa
