I thought I knew

I thought I knew why I was here
had it all figured out
life happens bringing angers and fears
as I drift from my pre-planned route
slowly again I am starting to see
the purpose that was ingrained in me
this goes beyond the one or the few
something that’s bigger than me and you
a mission can change daily– the purpose remains the same
as I learn to breath again above the fear and the shame
we all have a calling
it’s up to us to heed it well
quiet the mind.....hear the yell
pushing replay on the memories of time
propelling us forward
lights once dimmed now begins to shine
