Her young soul shrouded
with apprehension.
A short trip home was like
a million miles away.
She rushed into the room
shivering, tearful, almost...
Finally caught a glimpse
of comfort when she saw her.
But that night ....
was just the beginning
of her stained memories.
Agonizing sorrow followed
and deepened with scathe
Stained and scarred,
She’d never be the same.
Although, forgiveness...
As always,
Offered with grace.
