Able
I too sing America
Though I am “disabled”
Dis is but a prefix
By itself it is nothing
Like the horsemen is headless
Dis is bodiless
Able by itself has meaning
Powerful, skillful, resourceful
I do not see myself as an incapable being
No one can stop me from trying
God gave me the heart of a lion
The willingness to try it all
Be it all
And live it all
I am Able to show you what I mean
Able to climb mountains and rise like a flag
Able to be what I want to be
Able to exceed all expectations
It hit me one day when I was lying on my bed
I can’t continue my life in a never-ending closet of self guilt
I was made for more
More than just sitting around and doing nothing
I was made to love
Made to love unceasingly and unconditionally
