What-if-thoughts

Lost in my thoughts
Lying motionless beneath the stars
And the planets

Wondering
What if

What if the sun and the moon kissed
What if polar opposites collided
What if

What if tragedy was made a triumph
What if loss was turned into lavish living
What if

What if gravity got tired
What if no gravity is what it is to be a red balloon
What if

These what ifs make my mind spin
A top that spins continuously

Without
Stopping

What if people shared life
What if life is not lived unless it is shared
What if

What if daily life was more than satisfying the desires of your heart
What if life, was meant to be lived, for others
What if our own desires
became OUR desires

What if we folded into WE
Like bodies swept in centrifugally
What if

What if our skies didn’t have the unity
Of a billion disparate stars every night
What if our molecules drifted apart
Spreading us across air like seas

We were designed to be held together
And to hold each other together
So what if we weren’t really alone
Or apart, or unknown

What if
