Search For Peace

What do we do when our hero’s die,
And all the children are orphans and cry.

For the loss of those the women weep,
For those who stay there is no sleep.

The people walk with death as a face,
None of these visions can be erased.

No one gives, but everyone takes,
There is no love there is only hate.

The call is given and they will go,
Will they return, none can know.

Why can’t the answer simply be peace,
Give orphans a parent and the tired sleep.

Wipe the tears replace with a smile
The answer was here and was for a while.

War is bloody cold and wrong,
Those who suffer, suffer long.

They say its right and must be done,
Those who say, have now turned and run.

A command is given and loved one dies,
Alone in the back a mother cry’s.

It must be accepted, because no one dares to seek an end,
To some it’s a game to others a trend.

If this is so and people must die, send those who are for it,
And let their loved ones cry.

But the ones who call and give command, sleep safely in their bed,
And somewhere on the other side, another soldier is dead.

A mother weeps and is given a flag in the name of the country he served,
The question is asked, did anyone get what they deserved.

But don’t ask the question or search for peace, for they’ll silence you one night in your bed,
And like the lonely soldiers, soon you will be dead,
