Most people look at me
Thinking I’m happy
But what they don’t know is;
The pain I conceal behind a smile
I may look stress free
Though I’m not
I just refuse to walk around looking angry
Like the world has turn their backs from me
Behind a smile I am constantly hurting
I’m trying to feel whole so I keep on fighting
No one knows the agony that I’ve faced in my life
At times, it seems as if someone cuts my heart
With a sharp knife;
All I want is to rise and overcome this pain
But everyday I see endless rain
Therefore, I will continue to hide
Behind a smile.
