They Told Her
They told her not to jump,
Because she may fall,
They told her not to gamble,
Because she may lose it all,
They told her not to care,
Because no one she loved would ever call,
They told her not to do this and that,
Until one night when she sat,
And she begun to realize what was at stake and said to herself,
“I’ll miss all the shots I don’t take.”,
So she returned and told them,
“Then don’t live because you might die.”,
And they answered with nothing,
But a mumbled cry.
