Lakes Of Sorrow

Rivers of tears running down my cheek, crashing onto the pavement beneath me creating lakes of sorrow.

I look down to the lakes of sorrow and see a reflection. The face I recognize, but the image is no self portrait.

It was my late mother.
She sent warmth to my soul, chills down my spine. A smile I haven’t seen in a while.

I kneeled, placed my knees on the pavement and prayed to God. I felt I no longer belonged. I had no one. Until I opened my eye’s.

Rising out from the lakes of sorrow so bright was a woman. She held out her hand, I grabbed. I must have been dreaming, my mother was alive.

Or was I dead?

Nothing seems to matter when you’re happy with a love one beside you.
