35

R.I.P. Jordan Curtis Myers 11/8/06 This poem is to my little brother who died at 35 minutes old when I was 7. I love you little man.

35 minutes
Counting the seconds
35 minutes
Counting your blessings
In my arms tight and snug
My only want is one more hug
To hear your heart beat one last times
To see that sparkle in your pretty blue eyes
To feel your chest rise with a breath
why was this your time of death?
35 minutes after your birth
Something took you from this earth
Lying in our Mother’s arms
Your body got cold and she began to cry
Sitting beside her lost and confused
You had just left the womb
A Monday later we stand at your grave
And mother told me that I was so brave
The tears never stopped down her cheek
More like a river than a creek
My heart jerked yet my eyes stayed dry
Inside I wanted to die
Though I knew it was part of his plan
He had to take you little man
But in my heart you’ll forever be
Always here, here with me
