Somewhere in between
Somewhere in between the first day we met,
and the first time he looked in my eyes;
somewhere in between the first time he kissed me,
and the first time he made me cry;
somewhere in between all the hugs that we shared,
and the smiles he put on my face;
somehow, somewhere along the way,
I realized nobody could take his place.
Somewhere in between all the stupid fights,
and the jokes that made us laugh;
somewhere in between all that we’ve been through,
he became my better half;
somewhere in between every moment we’ve had,
and every second that’s passed since then;
somewhere in between the beginning until now,
I fell in love with him.

This was a poem I wrote for my first love...who, to this day, even though we are no longer together, I still love with every beat of my heart.
