Falsity

The rain glistens off the wet pavement as our footsteps tamper with the reality of the waters fate. Do I dare separate the liquid from its original state or let it rest in the silence of the night. It trickles from the sky as we walk hand in hand along the shore line.  Blessed to be here within each other’s presence, but also destined to be apart. When the time sets upon us we will be alone in the mist of the oceans breeze. The salt in the air will rest upon our lips as we whisper goodbye into the shadows of tomorrow. Then the distance will become too great to see through the pouring rain that cannot be separated from the tears flowing from our eyes. The pain brings a reminder of loneliness that we will hide behind the smiles of falsity. Which way do we flow from there is left up to the gravity of the universe, one could only hope that we are pulled  into a direction of  healing and not into the path destruction.
