You Never Believe

The soothsayer’s words fell on these ears,
the ones that do not hear.

The ruins of the past
and the ghosts they hold,
are haunting my chapel,
disparate to the future foretold

I’m struggling to find,
but, I can’t remember,
the memory of the moment
I had chosen despair

Walking these aisles,
caked in regret,
between tiny houses,
hoping only to forget

The time I had chosen despair
