AN ANGEL CAME....

an angel came to guide me but I wasn’t ready to let go
an angel came to hold my hand but my hand was frozen
an angel came to hold me and I wasn’t there

I was here........all alone
my head was my home
a slave to the pleasure dome
a slave to the rythm of home
a slave to the physical bone
a slave to the excesses of Rome

an angel came to hold me and I wasn’t there
an angel came to tell me but I couldn’t hear
an angel said “trust me” but I was full of fear
an angel came to love me but I wasn’t there

I was here ........in my body
       adorned and so fine
a slave to the shine of Solomon’s mine
a slave to the mirror the razor the style
a slave to the promise of a beautiful smile

an angel came to save me but I chose to drown
an angel came to heal me and give me my crown
an angel came to take me to my promised land
an angel came to show me the universe in the sand
an angel came to love me but I wasn’t there

I was here.......deep in my past
     self-imprisoned by thought crime
a slave to the pre-programmed circuits of shame
a slave to the ego and vanity of fame
a slave to the addiktion of pleasure and pain
a slave to the memory of my anscestors name

an angel rests inside me in a cage of pure gold
an angel wants my heart but I think its been sold........
