Suicide
A heart beat away from painlessness!
You shouldn’t have to live because you’re frightened what your lack of being will mean for other people.
It’s not that I don’t love you or want to be with you.
It’s just that sometimes the pain is so great the only way I can imagine being without it, is by not being.
We live in a society where suicide is viewed as failure. Failure of the person who dies, failure of those who survive, failure of family and friends.
Failure.
Sometimes,
sometimes for people there are worse things than death.
Sometimes going on seems worse. They look you in the future eye and say, “understand me!” They say. “This pain was too much to bear!”
It doesn’t mean they didn’t love you. It doesn’t mean they didn’t care.
It means they chose to end their pain.
It’s not a failure.
They’re not a coward.
They choose a different path.
I look my grief in the eye every day and choose to live.
It’s a close run thing!
