To me you are no more

You tore the very roots, from my flourishing tree
Brought me from riches into squalid poverty.
Smashed down my walls
In which I did reside
Gave me to the ocean and cast me aside.

To you I bared my soul, so very potently
Released the sword to enable me to breathe
Life into my veins,
A rose it did bloom
But you blocked out the light, engulfed it in gloom.

So sweet were the words that I once heard
So I sit here and wonder, what I did to deserve
Such forceful wounds,
Inflicted upon me
Words frozen in time, eyes that did not see.

You fractured my spirit, broke my sweet smile
Forced ice into my heart and took away my desire
To be myself, my own person,
To fly and run free
My wings they were broken, wounds continued to bleed.

Protective arms ripped apart, the bubble did burst
Deserted and hungry, with eyes full of thirst
For that one tiny piece
Of some kind of salvation
A riverbed so dry, breaking in desperation.

I gave you my all, my trust and my love
But like an angry god you ripped from above
The stars that shone bright,
Gave light to our life
You started a war from your own selfish fight.

My wounds they will heal, a new rose shall bloom
Warm sunlight shall fill this dark empty room
My Phoenix will rise
Breaking the dawn,
To me you’ll be dead, buried and gone.
